I have loved art and drawing all of my life, but it wasn't until recent years that I focused on developing my skills as a portrait artist. Although to date most of my portraits have been created for friends and family, several have been featured in local art shows and on the Orange County Schools website.
My portraits are created from photographs either taken by me or provided by you. This means that the portrait subject does not have to sit for the portrait, making the process much more convenient for the subject and the client.
I draw with pencil on white or cream, acid-free, archival paper so that your portrait will last for generations. My portraits are typically created at 11 inches by 14 inches, a size for which a variety of frames and mats are readily available. Finished portraits are sprayed with a fixative to prevent smudging; however, I recommend that clients frame their portrait to ensure protection for years to come.
Assuming there are no special size, subject, or other requests, I charge $60 for a portrait. However, if you are unsatisfied with the finished work, I ask only that you pay as much as you think the work is worth. I like to allow approximately 1-2 weeks from the time I make or receive the subject photograph to complete a work unless we make other arrangements.
If you would like to request a portrait, or if you have any questions at all, please follow the "contact" link on this page.
